Nestled quietly on the calm street of 4 Rue Poulbot, Le Troubadour is a true Parisian gem that offers visitors a peaceful retreat from the bustling tourist crowds of Montmartre. This intimate café strikes a perfect balance between the vibrant energy of Paris and a serene, village-like atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to unwind and savor authentic local flavors.
The charm of Le Troubadour lies not only in its discreet location—hidden behind high greenery walls—but also in its warm, cozy interior where friendly staff greet you with genuine hospitality. Guests consistently praise the relaxed ambience, noting it as a rare haven for those looking to enjoy Parisian culture without the usual rush and noise. The café’s small but thoughtfully curated menu showcases classic French favorites with a rich depth of flavor.
Food lovers will find themselves delighted by the traditional dishes such as the rich and savory onion soup, which has earned rave reviews for its comforting warmth and perfectly balanced taste. The escargots and onion soup starters provide a taste of local culinary heritage, while the hearty hamburgers offer a satisfying main course that pairs beautifully with a glass of crisp Petit Chablis. And for a touch of sweet indulgence, the chocolate crêpes—especially enjoyed by younger guests—are decadently smooth and a highlight of any midday break.
Le Troubadour also caters to those seeking a casual, social atmosphere later in the day. Happy hour, from 5 pm to 8 pm, might not feature extensive food options beyond elegant cheese and jam platters, but it offers excellent value with affordable drinks. Patrons speak fondly of the strong and quickly effective punches, making it a tempting choice for a low-key yet lively evening escape.
What resonates most about Le Troubadour is the feeling of stepping into an almost secret corner of Paris—where the city’s historic charm meets genuine quietude. Whether it's the friendly service that eschews any stereotypical French aloofness or the inviting ambiance that encourages you to linger, this café has crafted an experience that feels both authentic and comfortably familiar.
If you're seeking a peaceful spot just steps away from Paris's most vibrant neighborhoods, Le Troubadour offers a hidden sanctuary to enjoy excellent food, delightful drinks, and the true spirit of Parisian café culture.

Good service. Zero French attitude. Happy hour from 5 pm to 8 pm. No food though. Just cheese and jam platters. Looks amazing. It is in the middle of everything but not traffic going by it so it is the other side of the coin when compared with the other places on the more crowded areas. Nice place to get away from the crowd and get drunk for cheap. T-Punches will kick your ass quick. Cheers.

Just around the corner of the most touristic area of Paris, but very calm street. Had lunch with friends on a warm Saturday afternoon. The waiter wasn't the most enthusiastic we have met. The food was good, we had escargots and union soup as starter, hamburger as main and combined with a nice Petit Chablis to deal with the sunshine. Kids enjoyed a crêpe with pure chocolate. Life is good.

Great onion soup! Staff was very Friendly. Restaurant is cozy. It's kind of hidden but I would say is a hidden jewel a little bit away from the crowd. Great to have an intimate moment... Worth it give it a shot! Prices are good as well
